A nice person gave us the tip to try out the Berggasthaus Niedersachsen in Gehrden. We did that on a beautiful sunny Saturday and really enjoyed our decision. A very good selection of excellently prepared dishes with local references, as well as competent but nice advice and a beautiful view have given us a culinary experience.

Fantastic location and very cool owner. We celebrated our wedding there in August, of course in compliance with the rules. But the owner did everything to make our day nice despite the Corona rules and then he cooks so damn well too :) Dear Oliver, Thank you very much for allowing us to celebrate with you. Our guests were all delighted.

We got married in the Berggasthaus Niedersachsen this year despite Corona and are very, very happy that we made the decision. 1. The menu and the wedding cake were fantastic. We and our guests are still raving about it. 2. Oliver Gerasch and team were very attentive at all times and available for all requests and needs. Open communication comes first and makes planning and a wedding celebration in itself a pleasure. 3. The ambience of the Berggasthaus Niedersachsen rounds off the visit both when visiting a restaurant and at such a unique celebration. We are very happy to have celebrated right here and would love to come back :)

In the most beautiful atmosphere we were pampered as part of a family celebration with the finest vegan 4-course menu and drinks and all the trimmings. Even extra requests were gladly fulfilled. Thank you, we will keep the day in fond memories and would be happy to come back!

If you read through the responses of the restaurant to critical reviews, I would like to anticipate: I am athletic, healthy and don't wear a satchel in front of me. My company was also more than lovely. Besides Aldi, I also go shopping more often at Rewe or Edeka ;-) Accordingly, the 3-hour wait for a 4-course menu could not have been my fault. It should be emphasized that we canceled the dessert at the end because it just took us far too long. Let's get to the positive part: the starter and intermediate course were fine. The service team was also very courteous and nice at the beginning. From the main course onwards, the level unfortunately decreased noticeably. In the first attempt, a fillet of beef was served. When I placed my order, I wasn't asked which cooking point I wanted. So I started with the medium. Result: through and dry. Over-salt the side dishes. When asked whether the main course can be re-prepared (two people let the food go back. Three other people at the table actually wanted to do this too, but were so hungry after the long wait that they simply didn't want to wait any longer) , we were ignored twice by the service team. Our request was only granted when we asked for the third time. The newly served food was delicious, the fillet had a good cooking point. In terms of taste, I expected more. All in all. Price-performance ratio was far from right that day. The food was of a higher standard, which was sometimes too salty (prices and food). For that much money, I expect good food in a reasonable time frame. A little apology when paying the bill would have been nice too. If I had also read the boss's sometimes very insulting responses to some critical reviews in advance, we would definitely not have reserved a table. I don't know how you can react so brazenly to criticism from customers in an "upscale" restaurant. It is better to touch your own nose here, accept criticism constructively and thus continuously improve the guest experience. However, it may also be very comfortable on a Michelin star.

Actually a nice location. But yesterday, for my aunt's 90th birthday, things didn't go right. Too long waiting time, overwhelmed staff. Food sometimes cold, only after I told the staff several times someone came to say that we were getting a new meal. No apology. Ordered soup was forgotten. Sometimes the food is too salty. High-priced location, so I expect the service accordingly. We did without dessert, because we were from 12.30 p.m. to about 4 p.m., due to long waiting times and u. a. had decided on the new warm meal. We felt like we had been forgotten in the enclosed area (winter garden), which is very beautiful in itself. The vegan dessert from the new menu was also not available, although this menu was confirmed on the phone. Incidentally, there was no apology from either side. The staff was polite but sometimes seemed overwhelmed. It's also a shame that 2 people didn't get enough because they had chosen the turbot and had to look for it with a magnifying glass. Before that, they had chosen a starter and sometimes an intermediate course. So that there are no misunderstandings: We had had a sample here beforehand and the quality of the food was very important to us and we knew exactly that this is a place with higher prices and several courses. But that portion wasn't in proportion to the price. I didn't find that very unpleasant either, although it was mentioned several times when reserving the table that it was a 90th birthday, it was answered and not even asked who the birthday guest was. But worst of all I find the reactions of the owner who reacts very cheekily to the reviews here, apparently feels personally attacked. One cannot rest on the award of the Michelin Guide. The customer is king, always. This is my first time writing a review and I'm not one to complain about. But that was important to me.

I was a guest here today on a 90th birthday, which was announced and discussed a long time in advance. 2 vegan menus were also announced in advance. Nevertheless, the dessert was unfortunately no longer available on site. But a sorbet was offered as a substitute, which is also vegan. The complex and the interior are very nice and could do even more with a little more care. At 12.30 p.m. we sat down and around 2 p.m. the first starter came. All in all it was way too long. Soups were forgotten .. Now briefly to the main courses: A cook who is probably in love ?! Inedible over-salted chanterelles and seasonal vegetables (especially the snow peas). My mother let her dish go because it was lukewarm and my husband had a dry beef tenderloin, which also went back. My food was also not warm and the vegan savoy cabbage roulade (which is definitely more than mashed potatoes wrapped in savoy cabbage leaves) bland and bland in taste. We talked about all of this and got neither an apology nor a coffee or something like that. offered. The service wasn't rude. But also not particularly attentive or trying. We decided to cancel our desserts and unfortunately we drove quite disappointed.

Quality of the food and the service on a high level. The ambience is very nice and is rarely found in the region as picturesque but of the same quality. If you book the place exclusively, all processes, food and drinks as well as other extras can be individually coordinated. The host's contact and appearance is binding and unpretentious. So you can invite people here perfectly, both for business and private purposes.

Well, the shop was pretty empty. In the afternoon there is no cake, etc., but a cup of coffee was still in there.

I was allowed to celebrate a wedding here as a guest. The inn is very idyllically surrounded by greenery and offers a beautiful backdrop for appropriate photos. The food was excellent and for those with an appetite, it was served later. If the weather is nice, this location is particularly recommended.

Outstanding delicious food and excellent service. A wonderful location run by a really great host. We organized the celebration of our civil wedding (due to Corona and the constantly changing framework conditions associated with it, shortly before our wedding day) in the mountain inn at very short notice. It was particularly beneficial at this time to have Oliver Gerasch, a professional, pragmatic and cordial contact on our side. We felt completely comfortable and perfectly cared for in the run-up to the vote and especially at the celebration. The menu was absolutely delicious and very nicely presented from the first to the fifth course. The wine selection was completely consistent. We are extremely grateful to Mr. Gerasch and his team for their great contribution to our all-round successful day.

Our goal for great gastronomy, surroundings and getting to know new culinary ideas! Mr. Gerasch manages the restaurant with a lot of passion, so we always like to come back. Our wedding 1 year ago was also a perfect experience thanks to the team. Thank you!

A very clear recommendation for this nice little restaurant! The name suggests more an average tourist restaurant with high guest throughput. Without the recommendation of a friend, we would certainly not so easily become aware of this gem. The bigger and more pleasant was the surprise given what we found there: A wonderful kitchen with extremely friendly, attentive yet discreet service. In addition, an ambience that is bright, friendly, tastefully and attractively decorated without being overcharged in any way. The food not only delights the palate, but also presented as a true eye candy. Composition and preparation are perfect, to the point and wonderfully coordinated. Portion sizes are designed so that a menu can be enjoyed without having to feel like stuffed Christmas goose afterwards. Of course, the map changes and integrates regional and seasonal products in a very successful way. The price / performance ratio is definitely adequate. Conclusion: a very recommendable restaurant for every connoisseur!
